# source_position_conflict

> source position conflict (HTTP 409).

## When this happens

A balance snapshot or complete-book declaration is not newer than the evidence PayPathIQ already accepted. Its `sourcePosition` is not higher than every accepted position of its kind, or its `asOf` is earlier than the latest accepted one.

## What to do

Read the latest accepted snapshot or declaration and send positions in the Source's own order. Never reuse a position for different evidence. A lost response is safe to retry with the same snapshot identity and identical body. Do not send credentials or personal payloads to support.
