# payment_request_held

> Payment initiation held (HTTP 409).

## When this happens

Current Customer and Receivable policy, a Dispute, a source restriction, a reconciliation hold or stale source evidence prevents new payment initiation for these Receivables.

## What to do

Check [source freshness](/concepts) and the Receivables, resolve the cause with the Client, then create the request again. If the error persists, contact [help@paypathiq.com](mailto:help@paypathiq.com) with the `requestId`.
