# payment_attempt_in_progress

> Payment already in progress (HTTP 409).

## When this happens

A payment attempt is already in progress for one of the requested Receivables, so a new hosted payment request cannot replace the earlier request.

## What to do

Wait until the payment provider confirms or declines the attempt, read the earlier request with `GET`, then create a new request if it is still needed. If the error persists, contact [help@paypathiq.com](mailto:help@paypathiq.com) with the `requestId`.
