# balance_mismatch

> Balance mismatch (HTTP 409).

## When this happens

The Payment observation's `resultingRecoverableAmount` does not match the Receivable's current `recoverableAmount` after this observation is applied. A `payment` subtracts its amount. A `refund` or `reversal` adds its amount back. Nothing was saved.

## What to do

`GET` the Receivable, recalculate `resultingRecoverableAmount` from its current `recoverableAmount`, and send the observation again.
